grade 7

i recently had the opportunity to take a break from teaching energetic grade 10-12's to teaching energetic grade 7's. it was a riot. i dont think ive laughed that hard. ever. i felt like there should have been a camera in the classroom so i could broadcast the daily happenings on tv. at the age of twelve they were so innocent, in their thoughts and in their words....either making way for a good giggle or a trip to the principal's office.

despite their offside comments or questions, those twelve year olds learned a very valuable life lesson. they had the opportunity to take part in a gender identity and equality workshop. at first i thought the topic may be a bit too deep for them or difficult for them to understand and more importantly appreciate. but they got it, they sooooooo got it. we did a reflection after the workshop and i asked the students to sum up their learning in one phrase, they collectively decided that "hate is easy, love takes courage" was the best phrase to describe their learning and i couldnt agree more.

watch the wind blow by

i love me some timmy. tim mcgraw that is.

creek goes ripplin' by

i've been barefoot and all day with my baby

brown leaves have started falling

leading the way

i like it best just like this

doing nothin' all the way

so let's lay down in the tall grass

dreamin' away

all i wanna do is let it be and be with you

and watch the wind blow by

i think you get the idea....seriously go listen to it on youtube, if i knew how to attach a link i would

a few weekends ago sammy and i were at the farm messing around with my camera and we ended up with this shot:

it pretty captured the essence of my daily happiness, rolling grass at the farm, sammy is sitting on my lap, you can see both mine and sammy's feet, nelly right at foot enjoying the sunshine, otis keeping watch in the distance and a little john deere action bc it wouldn't be a country shot without it right?

makes me smile.

The opposite of love

I havent posted in well over a month. honestly i just havent had anything of worth to share. i have been battling with teaching issues and battling with stupid men. or rather a stupid man. ive spent a lot of time in bed, on the couch, or driving around, not entirely sure what i was trying to accomplish.

I learned a valuable lesson from a good friend yesterday, "The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. It's when you stop giving a shit".

Clearly my problem is i still give a shit. so while i continue to give a shit, even though ive been told i really shouldnt, i have been wasting hours of life on PINTEREST. so many pretty things....like this shoe:

so while i sit here trying not to give a shit ima stare at the gorgeous peacock blue shoe and breathe deeply out and then in because in and then out is far too complicated.
